ZEITGUISED is an award winning studio producing exquisite realities, at the intersection where art and design and digital and physical space meet. We have been influencing synthetic image making since 2001, with an approach connecting formal and conceptual design, oscillating between cerebral and poetic. Our work often bears character like abstractions, brandishing a ZEITGUISED blend of digital animism, with a universe steeped in consciousness and inanimate objects inhibited by a connecting spirit. All of this is carried by hallucinative narratives of shape, color and behaviour relations. Succeeding with a project encompassing VR and 3D printing as early as 2001, ZEITGUISED recently reconnected to our arts and crafts roots with a series of original independent solo projects and artist collaborations in the material world of “phygital” objects.

ZEITGUISED is now an independent experimental design brand, branching out its commercial visual service to foam Studio, which in turn keeps pushing the envelope as a trend lab and image consultancy with a connected premium production suite.

ZEITGUISED Studio was established in 2001 by Jamie Raap and Henrik Mauler. It has since become a flourishing brand of poetic digital art and design, with the new addition of foam as a commercial service branch.
Their work has been presented in numerous international New Media art fairs and festivals like Onedotzero, Dotmov, Nemo, ITFS and Resfest.

ZEITGUISED was nominated for two Media Art Awards at the ZKM Karlsruhe in 2001 and 2002. In 2005 they received the award for Best Music Video at the International Film Festival Oberhausen, and later that year the Best Design Award at Resfest. In 2009 they received the award for Best Experimental work at the Ottawa International Animation Festival and in 2010 were a finalist in the Experimental section of the Vimeo Festival+Awards in NYC. They hold two Laus Awards from 2014 and 2015, and two honorable mentions at Ars Electronica.

In 2016 they won Best Experimental and Best VFX, both at the Berlin Fashion Film Festival, and Bronze at Ciclope Festival Berlin.
Selected work has been shown in galleries and art shows around the world, most notably Volta Art Fair New York and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Barcelona.
